Recent polls indicate that Joe Lieberman has a 10-point lead in Connecticut -- after losing the Democratic primary and running as an independent.
I was fairly sympathetic to Lamont's run, not because I'm anti-war myself but because a Democrat in a very liberal state should represent liberal views. This development, however, casts some serious doubts on Lamont's decision-making (and my initial reaction) and testifies to the power of crossover Republican votes in left-wing states.
